Gerry just stopped to be a good Samaritan and help someone with a broken shopping bag. The people from his train were trampling the poor woman. You know how crowds are; she was in danger of losing her groceries. He didn't even notice how beautiful she was until afterwards, and when she invited him for a drink it seemed churlish to turn her down. I mean, why would he? She just wanted to thank him... Gerry's life is soon turned upside down and the lovely Stephanie isn't everything she leads him to believe. She's not really Stephanie for a start and when she turns up in his hometown, several months after he saved her on the station platform, Gerry is riddled with panic. Why is she there? Is he being stalked? In the midst of his daughter's birth and his father's engagement, Gerry finds himself tense and nervous, worried what Stephanie might do next. He wasn't counting on having to deal with ancient history on top of his own past. Well, they do say, what goes around comes around, like history turning in circles. The question is, can Gerry's life survive it?
