Mehtab Benton is a long-time yoga teacher and teacher trainer. He is the founder of the Yoga Yoga Studios in Austin, Texas where he taught Yoga of Sound classes for 15 years. Mehtab completed a Kundalini Yoga teacher-training program in 1974 at the Hargobind Ashram in San Rafael, California where he taught Kundalini Yoga in public schools and drug rehabilitation programs. He has trained hundreds of yoga teachers in both the Kundalini and Hatha traditions and has certified yoga teachers and therapists in the art of playing the gong for meditation and relaxation. He has an educational background in psychology with advanced training in Integrative Yoga Therapy. Mehtab is the recipient of the International Kundalini Yoga Teacher’s Association “Building Communities in Yoga” award and has taught Kundalini Yoga to students and teachers from around the world at annual Kundalini Yoga Summer Solstice gathering in New Mexico as well as trainings in Europe, Mexico and Central America. He served on the Board of Directors for the 3HO Foundation, dedicated to spreading teachings of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Mehtab is the author of twelve books on yoga, astrology, gardening and health and is a certified Vedic astrologer and the author of the book Astrology Yoga: Cosmic Cycles of Transformation.
