The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.'
And shall man alone be dumb
Till that glorious kingdom come?
cres No! the Church delights to raise
Psalms and hymns and songs of praise.
5mf Saints below, with heart and voice,
Still in songs of praise rejoice;
cres Learning here, by faith and love,
f Songs of praise to sing above.
6mf Borne upon their latest breath,

If SONGS of praise the angels sang,
Heaven with hallelujahs rang,
When Jehovah's work begun,
When He spake, and it was done.
2 f Songs of praise awoke the morn
When the Prince of Peace was born;
Songs of praise arose when He
Captive led captivity.

Songs of praise shall conquer death; cres Then, amidst eternal joy,"

3mf Heaven and earth must pass away; cres Songs of praise shall crown that day: f God will make new heavens and earth; Songs of praise shall hail their birth. f Songs of praise their powers employ

"Receive ye the Holy Ghost."

ImfCOME, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire,
And lighten with celestial fire.

2 Thou the anointing Spirit art,

Who dost Thy sevenfold gifts impart. 3cres Thy blessèd unction from above

Is comfort, life, and fire of love.

4mf Enable with perpetual light

The dulness of our blinded sight.

5mf Anoint and cheer our soiled face With the abundance of Thy grace. 6cres Keep far our foes; give peace at home:

Where Thou art Guide no ill can come. 7mf Teach us to know the Father, Son,

And Thee, of both, to be but One; 8f That, through the ages all along, This may be our endless song:

9ff" Praise to Thy eternal merit !
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." Amen.

* These ties and the small notes in last bar to be used in Ninth Stanza only. The last syllable of the words "Merit" and "Spirit" to be sung to these notes. In the case of the first Tune Two Stanzas are required to each Verse, and in the Second
