M. THE Lord is our salvation, A present help in need; From terror's desolation His saints are surely freed. We will not fear, though quakes the world, And fall her mountain-pillars strong; Though roars the sea, and hills are hurl'd Its swelling tide along. 2 There is a gentle river, Its margin I have trod, Whose streams make glad for ever The city of our God. It murmurs near the holy place Where he, the Highest, hath his shrine; And tells me his almighty grace Is Zion's strength, and mine.
