Right honourable the earl of Granville, knight of the garter, and prefident of the privy council; his lordship was born in 1691, and fucceeded his father in the barony of Carteret in 1695; and on the death of his mother in 1744, he became earl Granville; he married the only daugh ter of fir Robert Worfley, by whom he had iffue one fon,, now earl of Granville, and four daughters; he married fecondly lady Sophia, eldest daughter of the earl of Pomfret, by whom he has living iffue.
