GOLD, Shoe Lane. compliance with his own exprefs delire, was inveltigated by Mr. Cole, who, on opening the head, found the membranes tha frounded and divide the brain, to be offine, and the brain itself had been fubjected to a great degree of inflammation, and was becane indated; fo that in bead of being furprded at Mr. Horrifon's finking prematurely into his grave, at 44 years of age, it may be deemed almott miraculous that his life was protrated to fo late a period. 18. He latterly bore the title of Marquis Del Soc no, which, according to a cottom of the Spanih Court, he received for condufting, during the American war, a Spinifh fouadiən, to the affistance of the French fleet. In his youth he had distinguished himself by his aftronomical attainments, and his travels in the interior of South Americ Mr. W. Woodfall, chiet juftice of Cape Breton, hitely at that place. He was the fon of the late Mr. W. Woodfill, weil known for his private worth and uterary powers, and was a young man of a very refpectable character: his talents and profeflional attainments well qualified him for the tuation he held; and a work which he published, on the Law concerning Landlord and Tennt, fuily proves that he might have arifen to confiderable repute, it he had remained in this country. He fell a facrifice to the climate, and his anx ety to discharge his duty; for, though labouring under fevere infirmity, he would often le carried into Coast, where he has fainted during his ofacial exertions.
