IN MEMORY

Mourns the Loss of a

Member

Chicago, Ill., through their great loss of a loving husband and kind father. May God temper the affliction and give strength to endure it.

Whereas, it has pleased the Supreme Ruler of the Universe to remove from our midst, by death, our sincere friend and brother, Michael E. Hannahan; and

Whereas, by his death our organization and Local 464, I. U. of S. & O. E., have lost a worthy member, we hereby desire to express our heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family in their hours of sorrow; be it

Resolved, That the Charter of Local 464, I. U. of S. & O. E., be draped for a period of thirty days, a copy of these resolutions be sent to his family, a copy sent to our Official Journal for publication, and a copy spread on the minutes of Local 464, I. U. of S. & O. E.

Local Union 8, Peoria, Ill., Passes Resolution on Death of a Member

Whereas, it has pleased our Allwise Providence and Ruler of the Universe to call from our midst our much respected and esteemed brother, Orlando M. Eakert; and,

Whereas, by his death our organization has lost a good and true member, the community a just and upright citizen whose desires, ambition and efforts were for the betterment of humanity; therefore, be it

Resolved, That we, the members. of Local No. 8, I. U. of S. and O. E., in our meeting assembled, do hereby express to the family of our deceased brother our sincere sympathy in this the sad hour of their bereavement

Resolved, That our charter be draped for thirty days, a copy of these resolutions sent to the family, to our Journal, and spread upon our records.

Passes Resolution on Death
of a Member

Whereas, the Spirit of Death has come and taken from among us and his beloved wife and family our well known and honored friend, Mr. Robert T. McCartan, Examiner of Engi

neers.

Whereas, we wish to express our sorrow, which this sad event has caused each and every member of this Local.

Whereas, in the death of Mr. McCartan we as Engineers have suffered the loss of a great friend and supporter; therefore, be it

Resolved, That we, the officers and. members of Local 17, I. U. S. and O. E., do extend to the afflicted wife and family our heartfelt sympathy in their hour of sorrow, and that these resolutions be placed upon our records; and be it further

Local Union No. 263, Boston, Mass., Mourns the Loss of a Member

were

The following resolutions adopted at the meeting of Engineers' Local No. 263, held December 16, 1915:

Whereas, it has pleased Almighty God to remove from our midst our worthy brother, Charles C. Llewellyn, death having occurred November 29, 1915; and

Whereas, this brother, although with us but a short time had proved his worthiness as a true union man; therefore, be it

Resolved, That we extend to his family our deep felt sympathy in this their hour of sorrow and loss; and, be it further

Resolved, That we tender to them our realization of the necessity that we must bow in humble submission to the will of Him who doeth all things for the best. Believing that God in His own way will take care of those who have been left behind; and, be it further

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to our departed brother's family and to our International Journal for publication; and, be it further

Local Union No. 152, Toronto, Ont., Mourns the Loss of Two Brothers

Whereas, it has pleased the Supreme Ruler, who doeth all things well, to take from our midst our friend and brother, Tom Walsh; and,

Whereas, we feel that in his death Local Union No. 152 has lost an earnest worker and devoted brother; therefore, be it

Resolved, That while we bow with humble submission to the will of God, we do none the less mourn for our departed brother, who has been taken from us to a haven of rest; and, be it further

Resolved, That this union tender their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family of our dead brother, in this hour of sorrow; and, be it further

Resolved, That the charter of Local Union No. 152, I. U. S. & O. E. be draped for a period of three months, a copy of these resolutions sent to the family of our late brother, Tom Walsh, a copy sent to our official journal for publication, and a copy spread on the minutes of this Local.

Whereas, God in His infinite wisdom has called from our midst our friend and brother, W. J. Phillips: therefore, be it

Resolved, That Local Union No. 152 do hereby express and extend to his family in this hour of sorrow our deepest sympathy; and, be it further

Resolved, That our charter be draped for a period of three months, that a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of our late brother, and a copy sent to our official journal for publication, and a copy spread upon the minutes of this Local.

Local Union No. 469, Bakersfield, Cal., Passes Resolutions on Death

of Brother Member's Wife Whereas, Our Heavenly Father has deemed it best to take from our midst a loyal Union supporter, Sister Chas. F. Öhrt, who departed this life December 25, 1915, at 8:30 a. m.; and

Whereas, We know that we should bow in humble submission to His will; and

Whereas, Those who are left to mourn the loss of our departed brother's wife feel that the loss we have been called to bear is one that all mankind sooner or later must be prepared to meet; be it

Resolved, that in justice to selves and our departed brother's wife we take this opportunity to extend to her bereaved husband and relatives our heartfelt sympathy in this their hour of trouble and sorrow, and we would at this time assure them that the mental pain that they are carrying is not one which they are bearing alone, for the Almighty God in his wisdom has seen fit to make us, Local 469, I. U. S. O. E., share with you this burden of sorrow.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to our bereaved brother, Chas. F. Ohrt; also a copy_sent to Kern County Labor Journal, THE INTERNATIONAL STEAM ENGINEER, and a copy spread on the minutes of our Local Union, and that our charter be draped for a period of thirty days.
