"Alleluia! for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth." Rev. xix. 6. L. M.

1 THE Lord is King! Lift up, thy voice,
O earth, and all ye heavens, rejoice!
From world to world the joy shall ring
The Lord Omnipotent is King.

2 The Lord is King! who then shall dare
Resist His will, distrust His care,
Or murmur at His wise decrees,
Or doubt His royal promises?

3 The Lord is King! Child of the dust,
The Judge of all the earth is just.
Holy and true are all His ways:
Let every creature speak His praise.

4 He reigns! Ye saints, exalt

your strains: Your God is King, your Father reigns; And He is at the Father's side,

The Man of love, the Crucified.

5 Come, make your wants, your burdens known;

He will present them at the throne;
And angel bands are waiting there,
His messages of love to bear.

6 Oh, when His wisdom can mistake,
His might decay, His love forsake,
Then may His children cease to sing,
The Lord Omnipotent is King.

7 Alike pervaded by His eye,
All parts of His dominion lie;

This world of ours and worlds unseen,
And thin the boundary between."

8 One Lord, one empire, all secures:
He reigns, and life and death are yours.
Through earth and heaven one song shall
The Lord Omnipotent is King.

462."I am the Root and Offspring of David, and the bright and Morning Star." Rev. xxii. 16. S. M.

1

ALL-HAIL, mysterious King!
Hail, David's ancient Root!

Thou righteous Branch, which thence didst spring,

To give the nations fruit.
2 Our weary souls shall rest
Beneath Thy grateful shade ;
Our thirsting lips salvation taste;
Our fainting hearts are glad.
3 Fair Morning-Star! arise,
With living glories bright,
And pour on these awakened eyes
A flood of sacred light.

4

The horrid gloom is fled,

Pierced by Thy beauteous ray:

Shine, and our wandering footsteps lead
To everlasting day.

"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life • proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb." Rev. xxii. 1. P. M.

1 ON wings of faith mount up, my soul, and

rise:

View thine inheritance beyond the skies.

What endless pleasures in those mansions dwell.

There our Redeemer lives, all bright and glorious:

O'er sin, and death, and hell, He reigns victorious.

2 No gnawing grief, no sad, heart-rending pain,

In that blest country can admission gain : No sorrow there, no soul-tormenting fear, For God's own hand shall wipe the falling

tear:

There our Redeemer lives, &c.

3 Before the throne a crystal river glides; Immortal verdure decks its cheerful sides: There the fair tree of life majestic rears Its blooming head, and sovereign virtue

bears.

There our Redeemer lives, &c.

4 No rising sun his needless beams displays; No sickly moon emits her feeble rays. The Godhead there celestial glory sheds : The exalted Lamb eternal radiance

spreads.

There our Redeemer lives, &c.

5 The distant glimpse my eager passion

fires:

Jesus! to Thee my longing soul aspires.

When shall I at Thy heavenly home arrive? When leave this earth, and when begin to enoiensmlive?uik eenmer la venta KAH There is my Saviour seen all bright and breadyfglorious :

O'er sin, and death, and hell, He reigns victorious.

"And his servants shall serve him, and they shall see his face." Rev. xxii. 3, 4.

P.M.

1 RISE, my soul, and stretch thy wings; Thy better portion trace.

Rise from transitory things,

Towards heaven, thy native place.
Sun, and moon, and stars decay;
Time shall soon this earth remove :
Rise, my soul, and haste away
To seats prepared above!

2 Rivers to the ocean run,

Nor stay in all their course:
Fire ascending seeks the sun :
Both speed them to their source.
So, a soul that's born of God,
Pants to view His glorious face;
Upward tends to His abode,
To rest in His embrace.

3 Cease, ye pilgrims, cease to mourn;
Press onward to the prize.
Soon your Saviour will return
Triumphant in the skies:
Yet a season, and we know,
Happy entrance will be given;
All our sorrows left below,

And earth exchanged for heaven.

1 NOT here, as to the prophet's eye,
The Lord upon His throne appears;
Nor seraph-tongues responsive cry,
"Holy! thrice holy!" in our ears.
2 Yet God is present in this place,
Veiled in serener majesty ;
So full of glory, truth, and grace,
That faith alone such light can see.
3 Nor, as He in the temple taught,

Is Christ within these walls revealed, When blind, and deaf, and dumb were brought,

Lepers and lame,—and all were healed. 4 Yet here, when two or three shall meet, Or thronging multitudes are found,

All may sit down at Jesus' feet,

And hear from Him the joyful sound.

"And call the Sabbath a delight." Isa. lviii. 13.

1 HOW welcome to the saints, when pressed With six days' noise, and care, and toil,

Is the returning day of rest,

Which hides them from the world awhile.
