LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL

U.S. SENATE,

COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICIARY, SUBCOMMITTEE ON ADMINISTRATIVE PRACTICE AND PROCEDURE,

Washington, D.C., April 25, 1968. Hon. JAMES 0. EASTLAND, Chairman, Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Washington, D.C.

DEAR MR. CHAIRMAN: The Freedom of Information Act, Public Law 89–487, is now 10 months old. To determine the effectiveness of the act, the Subcommittee on Administrative Practice and Procedure conducted a survey of selected Government agencies.

Because I think the results of this survey will be of great interest to my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee and to the public at large, I request that the attached document be printed as a committee print. Best regards. Sincerely,

EDWARD V. LONG, Chairman.
