HYMN 430. o Zion, tune thy voice,
Join all the glorious names
Of wisdom, love, and power
That ever mortals knew,
Or angels ever bore;
Great prophet of our God,
By thee the joyful news
of our salvation came,-
Thou art the Prince of Peace,
Our Leader and our Guide :
Thy kingdom shall increase, Which makes thy darkness bright: Till all in thee abide : Pursue his praise, till sovereign love, Redeemed of thee, in worlds above, In worlds above, the glory raise. Mankind will sing thy wondrous love.
HYMN 431. The Lord Jehovah reigns ;
Rejoice, the Lord is King ! His throne is built on high ;
Your Lord and King adore !
Mortals, give thanks and sing,
And triumph evermore!
His kingdom cannot fail,
Nor fail the love of heaven;
The keys of death and hell
Are to Messias given :
He all his foes shall quell, of glory condescend,
Shall all our sins destroy, To write his holy name
And every bosom swell,
With pure seraphic joy,
Rejoice in glorious hope !
Our Lord in love shall come,
And take his ransomed up Angels and men be joined,
To their eternal home : To celebrate with me
There every heart and every voice,
Shall evermore in him rejoice.
Glory to God on high! On all the world to call,
For all his love to man; To bid their hearts rejoice
His glory is displayed In him who died for all !
In his redeeming plan. For all, my Lord was crucified,
Rejoice in him, ye sons of men, For all, for all, my Saviour died ! And to that plan respond Amen.
143 HYMN 432
HYMN 434. Before the world was made,
All-hail, redeeming Lord ! Or sun or planets shone,
With joy our eyes behold Salvation's base was laid
The glory of thy word, In God's anointed Son,
In living grace unfold! Who came to spread the truth abroad, Thy love can cleanse the soul from sin, And reconcile the world to God. And breathe a heavenly joy within. By mercy's hand upheld,
O haste that glorious time, His purpose firmly stands ;
That era of delight, And every soul shall yield
When every land and clime To his divine commands.
Shall see thy holy light,Tho' slain of men, his pleading breath When all shall sing thy worthy praise, Still meekly blest his foes in death! And ever walk in wisdom's ways. Now raised to realms above, Where boundless mercies shine,
Behold the fleecy snow!
Behold the gentle rain!
To heaven, from which they fall, His grace and truth shall never end.
They turn not back again,
But water earth through every pore Hail, all-triumphant hour
And call forth all her secret store.
Arrayed in beauteous green,
The hills and valleys shine,
From Providence divine.
The harvest bows its golden ears,
And plenty everywhere appears.
My gospel shall descend,
Almighty to effect
The purpose I intend :
The race of man shall feel its power, For thee I fain would all resign,
And all be saved, to sin no more.
O Lord of glory ! come,
And bless thy people here;
Our waiting minds illume;
In thee alone we seek a rest.
Thy gospel word display,
In all its holy light,
That here, in wisdom's way,
Thy people may unite.
O grant us thy refreshing love!
And when we hence depart,
Thy spirit still bestow,
That so in every heart
Thy blessing we may know. Where winds and waves are known no In thee alone we find a rest, more.
By thee alone divinely blest.
