HYMN 427.

HYMN 430. o Zion, tune thy voice,

Join all the glorious names
And raise thy hands on high!

Of wisdom, love, and power
Tell all the earth thy joys,

That ever mortals knew,
And boast salvation nigh:

Or angels ever bore;
Cheerful in God, arise and shine, All are too mean to speak his worth,
While rays divine stream all abroad. Too mean to set the Saviour forth.
He gilds thy mourning face

Great prophet of our God,
With beams which cannot fade : Our tongues shall bless thy name,
His all-resplendent grace

By thee the joyful news
He pours around thy head:

of our salvation came,-
The nations round thy form shall view, The joyful news of sin forgiven,
With lustre new divinely crowned. Of souls renew'd, and peace with heav'n,
In honor to his name,

Thou art the Prince of Peace,
Reflect that sacred light;

Our Leader and our Guide :
And loud that grace proclaim,

Thy kingdom shall increase, Which makes thy darkness bright: Till all in thee abide : Pursue his praise, till sovereign love, Redeemed of thee, in worlds above, In worlds above, the glory raise. Mankind will sing thy wondrous love.

HYMN 428.

HYMN 431. The Lord Jehovah reigns ;

Rejoice, the Lord is King ! His throne is built on high ;

Your Lord and King adore !
The garments he assumes

Mortals, give thanks and sing,
Are light and majesty.

And triumph evermore!
His glories shine with beams so bright, Lift up the heart, lift up the voice !
No mortal eye can bear the sight. Rejoice! again I say, rejoice !
The thunders of his hand

His kingdom cannot fail,
Keep the wide world in awe;

Nor fail the love of heaven;
His truth and justice stand

The keys of death and hell
To guard his holy law;

Are to Messias given :
And where his love resolves to bless, Lift up the heart, lift up the voice !
His truth confirms and seals the grace. Rejoice! again I say, rejoice !
And can this mighty King

He all his foes shall quell, of glory condescend,

Shall all our sins destroy, To write his holy name

And every bosom swell,
My Father and my Friend?

With pure seraphic joy,
I love his name, I love his word; Lift up the heart, lift up the voice!
Jom, all my powers, to praise the Lord. Rejoice! again I say, rejoice!

Rejoice in glorious hope !
HYMN 429.

Our Lord in love shall come,
Let earth and heaven agree,

And take his ransomed up Angels and men be joined,

To their eternal home : To celebrate with me

There every heart and every voice,
The Saviour of mankind:

Shall evermore in him rejoice.
To praise the all-redeeming Lamb,
And bless the sound of Jesus' name.

O, for a trumpet's voice,

Glory to God on high! On all the world to call,

For all his love to man; To bid their hearts rejoice

His glory is displayed In him who died for all !

In his redeeming plan. For all, my Lord was crucified,

Rejoice in him, ye sons of men, For all, for all, my Saviour died ! And to that plan respond Amen.

143 HYMN 432

HYMN 434. Before the world was made,

All-hail, redeeming Lord ! Or sun or planets shone,

With joy our eyes behold Salvation's base was laid

The glory of thy word, In God's anointed Son,

In living grace unfold! Who came to spread the truth abroad, Thy love can cleanse the soul from sin, And reconcile the world to God. And breathe a heavenly joy within. By mercy's hand upheld,

O haste that glorious time, His purpose firmly stands ;

That era of delight, And every soul shall yield

When every land and clime To his divine commands.

Shall see thy holy light,Tho' slain of men, his pleading breath When all shall sing thy worthy praise, Still meekly blest his foes in death! And ever walk in wisdom's ways. Now raised to realms above, Where boundless mercies shine,

HYMN 435.
He rules in light and love,

Behold the fleecy snow!
And holiness divine.
Forevermore the sinner's Friend,

Behold the gentle rain!

To heaven, from which they fall, His grace and truth shall never end.

They turn not back again,

But water earth through every pore Hail, all-triumphant hour

And call forth all her secret store.
In which our Saviour rose!
His grace, in saving power,

Arrayed in beauteous green,
For our salvation flows !

The hills and valleys shine,
His blessed truth he spreads abroad, And man receives supplies
To reconcile the world to God.

From Providence divine.

The harvest bows its golden ears,
HYMN 443.

And plenty everywhere appears.
Adapted to Mariner. So, saith the God of grace,
Jesus, at thy command,

My gospel shall descend,
I launch into the deep,

Almighty to effect
And gladly leave the land

The purpose I intend :
Where sin lulls all asleep.

The race of man shall feel its power, For thee I fain would all resign,

And all be saved, to sin no more.
And sail to heaven with thee and thine.

HYMN 436.
Thou art my pilot wise ;
My compass is thy word;

O Lord of glory ! come,
My soul each storm defies,

And bless thy people here;
Relying on my Lord.

Our waiting minds illume;
I trust thy wondrous skill and power, Our longing spirits cheer,
To save me in the trying hour. By thee in truth divinely blest,

In thee alone we seek a rest.
Though on the pathless deep
Appalling dangers rise,

Thy gospel word display,
On him who will not sleep,

In all its holy light,
My joyous hope relies.

That here, in wisdom's way,
My anchor firmly shall abide,

Thy people may unite.
And I each boisterous storm outride. We wait thy blessing from above;

O grant us thy refreshing love!
By faith I see the land,
The port of endless rest;

And when we hence depart,
My soul, thy sails expand,

Thy spirit still bestow,
And fly to Jesus' breast !

That so in every heart
O may I reach the heavenly shore,

Thy blessing we may know. Where winds and waves are known no In thee alone we find a rest, more.

By thee alone divinely blest.
