HYMN 1.

HYMN 2. O COME, loud anthems let us sing, O all ye people, clap your hands, Loud thanks to our Almighty King; And shout in triumph while you sing; For we our voices high should raise, Sing his high praise who earth commands, When our Salvation's Rock we praise. And over all is sovereign King. To his blest courts let us repair, The morning stars together join, And humbly bow before him there : To chant his praise who form'd their host; To him alone the grateful song,

And, blest with favors most divine, And thankful hymns of praise belong. Man should adore and praise him most. Earth and its depths are in his hand; Goodness and care his might displays Sea and its isles his wisdom plann'd; In all around, beneath, above: And earth and sea and sky, proclaim Wisdom appears in all his ways, The might and honour of his name. And all his plans are plans of love. O come, and bow before the Lord, Loud praises to Jehovah sing, Ye who oan best his praise record : Ye highly-favor'd sons of men; Come, and with holy hosts above, And angels, on celestial wing, Sing of the wonders of his love. Shall join the theme, and shout Amen.

HYMN 4.

HYMN 7. Praise ye the Lord ; let praise employ The heav'ns declare thy glory, Lord; In his own courts, your songs of joy ; In ev'ry star thy wisdom shines ; The spacious firmament around, But when our eyes behold thy word, Shall echo back the joyful sound. We read thy name in fairer lines. Extol his name in strains divine; The rolling sun, the changing light, His wondrous works in glory shine: And nights and days thy pow'r confess; Praise him for all his mighty deeds, But the blest volume thou hast writ, Whose greatness all your praise exceeds. Reveals thy justice and thy grace. Awake to praise each joyous tone, Sun, moon, and stars convey thy praise To make your holy transports known; Round the whole earth, and never stand; Awake each tongue-lift up each voice, So when thy truth began its race, In grateful rapture to rejoice.

It tonch'd and glanc'd on every land. Let all whom life and breath inspire, Nor shall thy spreading gospel rest To holy hymns of joy aspire;

Till thro' the world thy truth has runAnd let the sacred concert rise,

Till Christ hath all the nations blest, To join the chorus of the skies. That see the light, or feel the sun. HYMN 5.

HYMN 8. Give to the Lord immortal praise ; Prajse, everlasting praise be paid Mercy and truth are all his ways: To him who earth's foundations laid; Wonders of grace to God belong, Praise to the God whose mighty will Repeat his mercies in your song. Creation's wide domains fulfil. He built the wide and glorious earth;

Praise to the goodness of the Lord, To heav'n and all its hosts gave birth; Who rules his people by his word; His mercies he will e'er display,

And there reveals a plan of grace Tho'heav'n and earth should pass away! Encircling all the human race.

O for a strong, a lasting faith, He sent his Son with pow'r to save To credit what our Father saith! From guilt and sorrow and the grave: To glory in his gracious will, Wonders of grace to God belong, And all his holy laws fulfil! Repeat his mercies in your song.

Then should the earth's foundations Give to the Lord of Lords renown;

shake, The King of Kings with glory crown:

And all the wheels of nature break,His mercies he will still display,

Our steadfast souls should fear no more, When lords and kings have past away. Than solid rocks when billows roar ! HYMN 6.

HYMN 9. Now to the Lord a noble song!

Nature, with all her pow'rs, shall sing Awake, my soul, awake my tongue;

Her great Creator, and her King : Hosanna to our Father's name,

Nor air, nor earth, nor skies, nor seas, And all his boundless Jove proclaim. Deny the tribute of their praise. Behold it glow in Shiloh's face,

Ye angels near his radiant throne, The brightest Image of his grace;

Unite to make his glories known; And hear it breathe in ev'ry tone, Attune your harps, and spread the sound In which salvation was made known! Throughout creation's utmost bound. Grace! 'tis a soul-rejoicing theme! O may our grateful zeal employ It flows in one eternal stream !

Each pow'r of mind in hymns of joy; Ye angels, dwell upon the sound; And join, with heart-inspiring songs, Ye heav'ns, reflect it to the ground ! The anthems of angelic tongues. O may we reach that happy place, Yet, gracious God, our feeble frame Where he unveils his lovely face! Attempts in vain to reach thy name; Where we his beauties shall behold, The highest notes that angels raise, And sing his praise to larps of gold. Fall far below thy glorious praise.
