Side 106 - It is shown without question that the physiological effect of the two rations, due to the withdrawal from the bran of such compounds as were soluble in slightly acidulated water, differed to a marked degree. With the washed bran ration as compared with the one containing the unwashed bran, the following differences were observed. a. Drier and much firmer feces with the washed bran ration, accompanied by a constipated condition, requiring in some' cases the use of a purgative.
