[The Questions on Points of Practical Interest are indexed in the LONDON: BLADES, EAST AND BLADES, 23, ABCHURCH LANE, E.C. 1895. PREFATORY NOTE. The Council of the Institute have for some time felt that the value of the Volumes of the Journal would be greatly increased by the compilation of a General Index; and on the completion of the 15th Volume they decided that this should be done. The work as now issued is not a mere amalgamation of the annual Indexes already issued. A considerable portion of them have been recast and many fresh references inserted. This, it is hoped, will make the volume available not only as a work of reference to the contents of the Journals issued from 1879-1894, but also as a help to the Student of the various banking, currency and economic questions which have arisen during that period. As stated on the title page, the Index does not include references to "Questions on Points of Practical Interest." Changes in the law have necessitated the modification of some of the answers since their first appearance in the Journal, and in their revised form they have been issued separately. In the preparation of this work the Council have availed themselves of the services of Mr. Malcolm Dillon, who has rendered assistance to the Secretary in the preparation of the Indexes of most of the Annual Volumes. 345537 JOURNAL OF THE INSTITUTE OF BANKERS.
