The New Kirk Building, which will have a floor space of 45 acres, will be one of the largest and most modern of soap manufacturing plants. The structure, which will be of concrete and steel, will be eight stories high and will cost approximately $2,500,000. The A. D. F. I. Co.'s Executive Committee met on Friday and Saturday, November 24 and 25, all of the members of the committee being present. Preliminary arrangements were made for the annual directors and stockholders' meeting of the company, which will take place on Tuesday, February 13, 1917.

The quarterly report shows that for the first nine months of the year the company wrote insurance of $14,018,676 at a premium of $145,749.08. This shows an increase in busines sover the corresponding period of the preceding year of $1,776,824.11 at a premium of $19,656.95. On the 30th of September the company had business in force amounting to $18,433,729.89 at a premium of $193,176.20, divided among 10,098 risks.

On the 30th of September the assets of the company amounted to $455,025.08; the reinsurance reserve to $80,726.28; other liabilities, $3,611.46, leaving a net surplus as to policyholders of $370,675.34.

The business of the company is making splendid progress, and its savings to the retail drug trade of the country for lower premium charges in the cost of their insurance will be nearly $70,000 for the year 1916.
