1 Timothy is put in mind of the charge which was
given unto him by Paul at his going to Mace-
donia. 5 of the right use and end of the law.
11 Of Saint Paul's calling to be an apostle, 20
and of Hymenæus and Alexander.

PAUL, an apostle of 8 Jesus Christ &

a by the commandment of God our Saviour, and γ Lord Jesus Christ y, which is our hope;

2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the
faith: f Grace, mercy, and peace, from
God our Father and Jesus Christ our
Lord.

3 As I besought thee to abide still at
Ephesus, 9 when I 2 went 2 into Macedonia,
that thou mightest 3 charge some that
they teach no other doctrine,

4Neither give heed to fables and end-
less genealogies, which minister questions,
rather than 8 godly edifying ß which is in
faith: 480 do +.

55 Now 5 the end of the commandment
is 6 charity 6 m out of a pure heart, and
of a good conscience, and of faith un-
feigned:

6 From which some 7|| having swerved 7
have turned aside unto "vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law;
understanding neither what they say, nor
whereof they affirm.

8 But we know that Pthe law is good,
if a man use it lawfully;

9 89 Knowing 8 this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is 1 Cor. 9. 17. contrary to sound doctrine 9; 11 According to the 10 glorious gospel 10 of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
