An Act for the relief of securities on recognizances in certain cases.

WHEREAS, Many persons have heretofore become security on recognizances for the personal appearance of parties at the Superior Courts of this State, who, after the execution of said bonds, Preamble, enlisted in the Confederate army and navy; and whereas, many of said recognizances either have been or are liable to be forfeited, to the great injury of said securities; for remedy whereof,

An Act to increase the salary of the Superintendent of the Western and At

lantic Rail Road.

Preamble.

WHEREÅS, On account of the enhanced price of subsistence, la-
bor,"&c., the services of an experienced and competent Rail Road
man can not be procured, to take 'charge of the Western and At-,
lantic Rail Road, for and at the compensation now allowed by law,
for remedy whereof, ,
1. Sec. I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatires

, That the salary of said Superintendent be five thousand dollars $5,060 per annum, the same to be paid as heretofore.

tribution of the laws.

WHEREAS, It is important that the laws should be printed and distributed as soon as possible, therefore,

The General Assembly do enact, That from and after. the passage of this Act, the fees of the Clerk of the Supreme Court Festa poftclk shall be as follows, to-wit: For entering and carrying case to judgment, six dollars; recording opinion, six dollars'; remitter, including certificate and seal, two dollars.
