BENEVENTO. 75. Double.

Fine.

D. S.

1

740

I HARK! the song of Jubilee,
Loud as mighty thunders roar,
Or the fulness of the sea,
When it breaks upon the shore!
Hallelujah! for the Lord

God Omnipotent shall reign:
Hallelujah! let the word

Echo round the earth and main. 2 Hallelujah! hark! the sound,

From the centre to the skies,
Wakes above, beneath, around,
All creation's harmonies.
See Jehovah's banner furled,
Sheathed His sword, He speaks-
't is done;

And the kingdoms of this world
Are the kingdoms of His Son.

3 He shall reign from pole to pole,
With illimitable sway ;

He shall reign, when like a scroll Yonder heavens have passed away; Then the end; beneath His rod

Man's last enemy shall fall: Hallelujah! Christ in God,

God in Christ, is All in All.

741

I COME ! Desire of nations, come!
Hasten, Lord, the general doom;
Hear the Spirit and the Bride;
Come, and take us to Thy side:
Thou, who hast our place prepared,
Make us meet for our reward;
Then, with all Thy saints descend;
Then, our earthly trials end.

2 Mindful of Thy chosen race,
Shorten these vindictive days;
Hear us now, and save Thine own,
Who for full redemption groan:
Now destroy the Man of Sin,
Now Thine ancient flock bring in,
Filled with righteousness divine;
Claim a ransomed world for Thine!

3 Plant Thy heavenly kingdom here;
Glorious in Thy saints appear;
Speak the sacred number sealed,
Speak the mystery revealed:
Take to Thee Thy royal power;
Reign! when sin shall be no more;
Reign! when death no more shall be ;
Reign to all eternity!

RAVEN. S. M. Double.

CHORUS.

744

I A FEW more years shall roll,

A few more seasons come,

And we shall be with those that rest

Asleep within the tomb: Then, O my Lord, prepare

My soul for that great day; Oh, wash me in Thy precious blood, And take my sins away!

2 A few more storms shall beat

On this wild, rocky shore; And we shall be where tempests cease, And surges swell no more: Then, O my Lord, prepare

My soul for that calm day;

Oh, wash me in Thy precious blood,
And take my sins away!

3 A few more struggles here,

A few more partings o'er,

A few more toils, a few more tears,
And we shall weep no more:
Then, O my Lord, prepare

My soul for that blest day;

Oh, wash me in Thy precious blood,
And take my sins away!

4 'Tis but a little while

And He shall come again,
Who died that we might live, who lives
That we with Him may reign:
Then, O my Lord, prepare

My soul for that glad day;

Oh, wash me in Thy precious blood,
And take my sins away!
