tionably a good one and that a uniform law of this character was to be commended above all others.

Dr. Fort moved that a vital statistics measure, embodying the features of the bill drafted by the Committee on Uniform Vital Statistics, and approved by the Conference on Medical Legislation of the American Medical Association, approved by the Division of Vital Statistics of the U. S. Bureau of the Census and in conformity with the Constitution of the State, be recommended to the Legislature for passage, and that the bill, recommended by the State Board of Health, be substituted for all like measures upon the subject now before the Legislature, or that may hereafter be introduced upon this subject. Carried.

Dr. Fort moved that the board appoint a committee of two to draft the proposed vital statistics bill. Carried.

The President appointed Dr. A. B. Cook and Dr. R. E. Fort as a committee on drafting a vital statistics bill.

The President stated that without objection he would declare the board adjourned until 3 o'clock p. m.

Afternoon Session.

The State Board of Health was called to order at 3:30 o'clock p. m.

Present: Dr. Heber Jones, President; Dr. T. E. Abernathy, Vice President, and Dr. R. E. Fort.

Absent: Hon. John Thompson.

The board heard the report of Mr. Brown, State Food and Drugs Inspector. (Dr. Brown's report appears in full on pages 255 to 298.)

The report of the State Food and Drugs Inspector was discussed at some length by Drs. Jones, Fort and Abernathy.

Dr. Fort moved that Mr. Brown's report be adopted and that the same be included in the biennial report of the Secretary.

Drs. Fort, Albright and Brown were appointed a Committee on Legislation and Finance.

After the transaction of further routine business the board adjourned to meet subject to the call of the President. J. A. ALBRIGHT,
