"Few living classical scholars have done so much, or nearly so much, as Mr. Fowle to smooth the way of the classical scholar by a series of elementary works which for accuracy in detail and perfection of method, as well as practical utility, are, as a whole, unsurpassed by any similar works in this country. Their tone is scholarly and thorough, and no real difficulty. is shirked."-School Board Chronicle.

"It has seldom been our fortune to light upon a Greek grammar in which economy and retrenchment of space went so thoroughly along with lucidity and solidity of information. . . A vast amount of thought and pains has been bestowed upon such arrangements of declensions, divisions of a declension, tenses, and tables of verbs, as obviate wearisome repetition and establish a sequence appreciable by the learner."Saturday Review.

Why did the rulers first beat Paul with rods, and later desire to stone him. Explain the alteration of route on St. Paul's last return from Greece.

How does Christ designate "Hell," Luke xxiii., and what does St. Peter say of His sojourn there, 1 Peter iii,?
