LONDON GAZETTE, August 29. Admiralty-office, August 29, 1812.-Copy of a letter from captain Brokc, of his Ma jesty's ship Shannon, addressed to vice-admiral Sawyer, and transmitted to John Wilson Croker, esq. dated on board his Majesty's ship Shannon, off New York, July 16, 1812. SIR-I HAVE the pleasure to inform yoo, that the Shannon has this day captured, after a smart chace, the United States' brig Nautilus, of sixteen guns and one hundred and sit men, commanded by captain Crane, twenty-four hours out from New York on a cruise, and had taken nothing. I have the honour to be, &c. P. B. V. BROKE.
