DVICES from Bro. E. L. Mathis, husband of Sister Mathis, President of the Ladies' Auxiliary, dated July 7th, states that the condition of Mrs. Mathis remains quite serious. She is now in the Baptist Memorial Hospital at Memphis, Tenn., and has been for the last month. THE EDITOR.

Notes from the Grand Secretary and
Treasurer.

We invite all members in the Grand Division, and locals in the eastern territory to arrange to be present on a day set apart, to be called Rally Day. This meeting to be held at Fraternity Hall, Jamaica, Long Island, New York. Those attending will be entertained by Local 16, Division 44, as their guests, and a luncheon will be served by these sisters, and the day will be spent in getting acquainted and discussing plans. to further the interests of the Ladies' Auxiliary in the East.

This Rally Day will be held some time about the middle of September next, and the First Vice-President, Sister Geo. W. Hilley, and the officers of Local 16, hope for a large attendance, and invite all to come and partake of their hospitality. Date to appear in August number. This is the most centrally located place, and the members can go and come in a day, and any who attend will be well repaid for their effort. Local 21, Division 17, have accepted the invitation to attend in a body, and we hope that every other member will do likewise, and will write to Sister Hilley, 29 Amherst Ave., Jamaica, L. I., New York, or to the Grand Secretary and Treasurer direct, that you will accept this invitation.

We earnestly desire to become acquainted, and to spend a social day together and know more of the work of the Auxiliary.

The first prize contest of the Ladies' Auxiliary has been a success. Besides those who won prizes, many nearly reached the mark, but did not get the required number to win a prize, but we hope that they will try again, as only by continued effort can they be secured.

We wish to congratulate Sister Blume for the excellent work done upon her division, and hope that she will continue to win silver spoons until she has a set.

The prize offered by the Grand Secretary and Treasurer for the largest number of new members secured by any local has been won by Local 4, Div. 35. The prize will be presented at the July meeting.
