HISTORY OF THE BATTLE.

During the year 56 copies of "The Battle of Shiloh and Organizations Engaged" were sold, and 134 copies distributed free to the survivors of the battle, their widows and descendants.

DECEASED COMMISSIONERS.

Two commissioners of the park died during the year-Gen. Basil W. Duke on September 16, 1916, and Maj. D. W. Reed, chairman of the commission, on September 22, 1916.
