CHAPTER 6.

AN ACT to repeal subsections (2) and (7) of section 20 the statutes, and to create a new subsection of section 20 the statutes, relating to portraits of the ex-governors, an ing an appropriation.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in Send Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. Subsections (2) and (7) of section 20.15 statutes are repealed.

SECTION 2. There is added to section 20.15 of the sta new subsection to read:

(20.15) (2) To the governor, one thousand and fif lars, for the purchase of an oil painting of former Gover ward Schofield.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon passage and cation.

CHAPTER 7.

AN ACT to amend the introductory paragraph of subsec and subsection (5) of section 20.02 of the statutes, rel the executive department, and making appropriations The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in Ser Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. The introductory paragraph of subsectio section 20.02 of the statutes is amended to read:

SECTION 2. Section 35.69 of the statutes is repealed.

A new section is added to the statutes to be numbered and to read: 35.69 The compensation to the official state paper for the original printing of the laws and to said paper and all other newspapers printed in cities of the first class for reprinting any law or for printing all election and other notices, all accounts, fiscal statements, advertisements, proclamations or other matter required to be published at the expense of the state shall equal the amount regularly received by such newspaper for the same amount of advertising space, not exceeding, however, eighty cents per folio for the first insertion and forty-five cents per folio for each subsequent insertion. The rates in the case of other papers shall not exceed sixty cents per folio for the first insertion and forty-five cents per folio for each subsequent insertion. The price in full for the publication in any paper of advertisements of the sale of school, university or other public lands shall not exceed fifty cents each description whenever the advertisement contains fifteen descriptions or more. All expenditures for transportation, communication, and delivery incidental to any such printing shall be borne by the paper doing the same. SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon passage and publication.

CHAPTER 5.

AN ACT to create section 6.015 of the statutes, relating to the granting to women the right to vote for presidential electors. The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. A new section is added to the statutes to read: 6.015 Every woman who is a citizen of this state, of the age of twenty-one years or upwards, who has resided within the state one year and in the election district where she offers to vote ten days preceding any election at which presidential electors are to be elected and who is not a pauper or excluded by section 2 of article 3 of the constitution, may vote at such election for presi

dential electors, in any town, city or village in which she has so resided. At such election there shall be provided separate ballot boxes for ballots cast by women for presidential electors, and where registration is required, women shall register in the same manner as male voters.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage and publication.

SECTION 1. The introductory paragraph of subsection (1) of section 20.04 of the statutes is amended to read:

(20.04) (1) Annually, beginning July 1,

fifty thousand dollars, for the execution of his functions other than the administration of sections 1636-47 to 1636 -56, inclusive. Of this there is allotted:

SECTION 2. Subsection (2) of section 20.04 of the statutes is amended to read:

(20.04) (2) Annually, such sums as may be necessary for the administration of sections 1636-47 to 1636--56, inclusive.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon July 1, 1919.

CHAPTER 10.

AN ACT to repeal subsection (5) of section 20.43, to amend the introductory paragraph and paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section 20.43, and to create a new subsection of section 20.43 of the statutes, relating to the state board of health, and making appropriations.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

SECTION 1. Subsection (5) of section 20.43 of the statutes is repealed.

SECTION 2. The introductory paragraph and paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section 20.43 of the statutes, are amended to read: (20.43) (1) * Annually, beginning July 1, 1919, ** fifty thousand dollars, for administration and the execution of the general functions of said board. Of this there is allotted:

(a) To each member of the board other than the secretary, compensation, to be certified by the president and secretary of the board, at the rate of ten dollars per day when actually and necessarily engaged in the performance of his official two hundred

but not to exceed
