The whole illuftrated by useful NOTES and OBSERVATIONS from A COPIOUS INDEX. The SECOND EDITION, with ADDITIONS. By JOHN IMPEY, INNER-TEMPLE. DUBLI N: Printed by ELIZ. LYNCH, No. 6, SKINNER-Row, M.DCC.LXXXV. PRE F A C E. It is now two years fince the following work T first made its appearance, and was received with the most flattering marks of approbation. In the mean time, the author has given it a thorough and attentive revifion; which, with the affistance of a new series of reports lately published, has enabled him to correct fome paffages which were erroneous, to explain others which were doubtful, and to illuftrate the whole with a great variety of new cafes and obfervations. He flatters himself, however, that the purchasers of the former impreflion will not be offended at the improvements in the prefent. A work which profeffes to treat of the modern practice and jurifdiction of the court, muft, from the nature of the fubject, neceffarily require perpetual alterations and amendments. In thefe cafes, the utmost an editor can do, is to correct each fucceffive edition by the latest determinations, and to bring it as By Douglas and Cozuper, from the 14th to the 21ft of the prefent Reign. near |
