These Cards provide a Test consisting of three plain sums and two problems for each rule, from Simple Addition to Stocks. The problems illustrate and teach the principles of Arithmetic.

CONTENTS OF BOOKS.

BOOK I.-The elementary brush stroke, straight line, circle (as a mass), curved brush stroke, and simple leaf forms.

BOOK II.-Ellipse, oval, bud forms, leaf forms; various designs based on these elements.

BOOK III. Compound brush forms, spirals and various designs based on them, designs in geometrical figures, six-pointed star, square, circle and hexagon. BOOK IV. Space filling and designing for various geometrical forms, horizontal and vertical borders, and all-over patterns. The examples are executed in two colours, with the exception of the last four, and these are done in two strengths of the same colour.
