BROWNS' "YOUNG ARTIST" READING SHEETS.

Published in two series.

Each Series contains 16 different Sheets printed in Sight-Preserving Green Ink, on Strong Manilla, size 25 x 20 inches, and neatly packed in a Strong Cardboard Box. 3/9 net each series.

These Reading Sheets are issued in connection with Browns' "Young Artist" Primers, and correspond page with page. A Colouring Occupation further increases the value of this combination, for the Teacher is able to colour the Sheets in convenient stages on the Blackboard, whilst the children copy into their own books. Outline illustrations appear on nearly every Sheet, and these have been prepared with the express purpose of appealing to the Infant Mind.

Each Part contains 48 pages, Crown 8vo, with 12 Original Illustrations in two colours, bound in Art Vellum and Thread Sewn. 3d. net each.

In "Little Duties for Little Folks," some of the simpler virtues are set forth in the form of pleasant stories. The use of these attractive little books gradually prepares the infant mind for the following Readers on Citizenship and Morals.

All three volumes are bound in cloth, stiff boards, and illustrated throughout.

These books serve a double purpose. In the first place, they are admirably adapted for use as ordinary literary readers. They are carefully graded, and the subject matter and illustrations have been chosen to meet the varying capacities and ages of the children by whom the books will be read. In the second place, they are intended to assist the teacher in the formation of the character of his pupils, and in the inculcation of good habits and good conduct-works which go on ceaselessly in every wellordered school.

The teaching is brought home to the children by reference to their actual surroundings, and it is illustrated by stories, poems, quotations, proverbs and examples drawn from history and biography.

Due attention has also been given to the important subjects of Hygiene and Temperance, and it will be found that these matters are as fully treated as the time at the disposal of the teacher will permit.
