Dear teachers, let us follow the wise counsel of the author of The Seven Laws of Teaching, Dr. J. M. Gregory, and be more anxious to "get the book through the mind of the pupil than to get the pupil through the book." We must leave out much, on review day, but let us get something fresh into the child-mind and childheart. It is easy to fall into a rut in the matter of reviews. It is hard to give suggestions, because so much depends on the manner of teaching the quarter's lessons as they come. Let us not make it parrotlike repetitions of the same things, but, as Dr. Gregory says, "a re-thinking of the truths, a fresh vision of them." A Mother's Wise Words. J. II. WILSON, of Edinburgh, says: "On the morning of the day when I was to be ordained and go to my first charge, my mother, holding my hand, said: You are going to be ordained to-day, and you will be told your duty by those who know it far better than I do; but I wish you to remember one thing which perhaps they may not tell you. Whenever you lay your hand on a child's head you are laying it on its mother's heart.'" Whisper Songs for September. TENTII LESSON.
