IO PARADISE! O Paradise!

"The paradise of God."

Who doth not crave for rest?
Who would not seek the happy land
Where they that loved are blest?
mf Where loyal hearts and true
Stand ever in the light,

All rapture through and through,
In God's most holy sight?

20 Paradise! O Paradise!

The world is growing old; Who would not be at rest and free, Where love is never cold? mf Where loyal hearts, &c. 3 mfO Paradise! O Paradise! 'Tis weary waiting here;

cres I long to be where Jesus is, To feel, to see Him near; mf Where loyal hearts, &c.

4 mf O Paradise! O Paradise! p I want to sin no more, cres I want to be as pure on earth As on thy spotless shore ; mf Where loyal hearts, &c.

5 mf Lord Jesus, King of Paradise, Oh, keep me in Thy love,

cres And guide me to that happy land Of perfect rest above;

f Where loyal hearts, &c.

Amen.

I mfWE speak of the realms of the blest,
Of that country so bright and so fair,
And oft are its glories confessed;
f But what must it be to be there!

2 mf We speak of its pathways of gold, Of its walls decked with jewels so rare,

Of its wonders and pleasures untold; f But what must it be to be there! 3 We speak of its freedom from sin, From sorrow, temptation, and care, From trials without and within; f But what must it be to be there!

4 mf We speak of its anthems of praise, With which we can never compare

The sweetest on earth we can raise ; f But what must it be to be there! 5 mf We speak of its service of love, Of the robes which the glorified wear, Of the Church of the first-born above; f But what must it be to be there!

6 Do Thou, Lord, 'midst pleasure or woe, Still for heaven our spirits prepare ;

cres And shortly we also shall know

And feel what it is to be there. Amen.

"Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou hast perfected praise."

I mf ABOVE the clear blue sky,
In heaven's bright abode,

The angel-host on high
Sing praises to their God:
f Hallelujah!
They love to sing
To God their King
"Hallelujah!"

2 mf But God from infant tongues
On earth receiveth praise;
We then our cheerful songs
In sweet accord will raise :
ƒ Hallelujah!
We too will sing
To God our King
"Hallelujah!"

[blocks in formation]

3 mf O blessed Lord, Thy truth
To us Thy babes impart,
And teach us in our youth
To know Thee as Thou art.
f Hallelujah!
Then shall we sing
To God our King
"Hallelujah!"

4 mf Oh, may Thy holy word

Spread all the world around:
cres And all with one accord
Uplift the joyful sound,
f Hallelujah!
All then shall sing
To God their King
"Hallelujah!" Amen.

I mf CHILDHOOD'S years are passing o'er 3 mf Hark! it is the Saviour calling,

Soon our school-days will be done;[us;
Cares and sorrows lie before us,
Hidden dangers, snares unknown.

2 mf Oh, may He, who, meek and lowly,
Trod Himself this vale of woe,
Make us His, and make us holy,
Guard and guide us while we go.

"Little children, follow Me :"
cres Jesus, keep our feet from falling;
Teach us all to follow Thee.

4 Soon we part; it may be never,
Never here to meet again;

cres Oh, to meet in heaven for ever!
f Oh, the crown of life to gain! Amen.
