General Introduction, p. 1-47. recites in the order of publication, "the portion" [of] "the Materials for the History of Britain" [which] "has been printed during the last three Centuries," with observations on Authers and Editions in question, and is followed by an account of Mr. Petrie's plan "for the publication of the Materials for the History of Britain," which is compared with Bouquets' system in the "Recueil des Historiens des Gaules et de la France.'
