The Meyer Brothers Druggist Prizes

OPEN TO ALL SUBSCRIBERS

This pharmaceutical journal, "Published in the interest of the entire drug trade,' purposes to inaugurate a competitive contest on the following subjects, open to all subscribers:

April-The Way to Make a Soda Fountain Profitable.

The object of this competition is to assemble for the benefit of the readers of the MEYER BROTHERS DRUGGIST experiences gained by members of the trade on these subjects which are of such vital importance to druggists.

The prize articles will be published in the order indicated and must be in the hands of the editor, Dr. H. M. Whelpley, 415 Clark avenue, St. Louis, by the fifteenth of the month preceding the month of publication.

The following prizes are offered:

First Prize $25.00 Assortment of Red Diamond Specialties (retail value).

Second Prize- 15.00 Assortment of Certitfied Drugs (retail value).

Third

Prize 10.00 Assortment of Imperial Crown Toilet Requisites (retail value). Prizes will be forwarded on the day the article is published in the MEYER BROTHERS DRUGGIST.

Articles submitted may be illustrated and the photograph of the successful contestant, if furnished, will be published with the article.

It is understood that all papers placed in competition for prizes become the property of the MEYER BROTHERS DRUGGIST.

COLLEGES

KANSAS CITY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY. Mrs. Belva Harman Wise of the Wise Homeopathic Pharmacy is visiting her old home this month before making her spring trip for the firm.

W. Scott Hughes, '08, formerly of Harrisonville, Mo., is with the Klee Drug Co. at Eleventh and Broadway, Kansas City.

Competent Drug Clerks are in demand from every quarter, and our files show positions paying from $85 to $125 are waiting for capable graduates to fill them.

Dewey Raish of Colorado, while not an experienced clerk yet, is an exceptionably bright one, and gave Davis a race for first place, with an average of 92.5 per cent.

Leo Prince, formerly of Joplin, but now proprietor of a flourishing business at Cleveland, Okla., was a recent visitor and reports that country in prosperous condition.

Lawrence W. Hart, senior, has given up his position with the Freison Pharmacy and will devote his time to making grades, and Lawrence is capable of earning them, too.

Carl W. Atkinson of Breckinridge, Mo., who is a member of the senior class, is with the Kaufman Pharmacy and has several good offers waiting for him when he graduates in May..

P. S. Bono, '16, who has been with the Lohman Pharmacy for the past eight years, will be head clerk for the Barzen Drug Co. at Fifteenth and Troost, Kansas City, which opened this month.

Wendall H. Waydelich of Waydelich Bros. at Shelbyville, Mo., visited us recently and feels well satisfied with the progress the new store has made. His brother, James H., will return to school next fall.

Clyde Moll, '13, formerly from Onaga, Kan., but who has been with the Hugo Eysell Pharmacy, Thirty-fourth and Main, for the past year, has accepted a position with the Zook Pharmacy at Santa Fe, N. M., and left Kansas City the 15th.

Carl Schenck, '16, formerly of Burlingame, Kan., but who has been with the Maddox Pharmacy, is now located with the Suman Drug Co. at Cushing, Okla. Schenck says there are plenty more good positions in Oklahoma for the capable graduates.

On the senior honor list this term the following are mentioned: Lawrence W. Hart, Rudolph J. Segelcke, Kinyon Hoshizaki, Wilmer Wood, Philip Smolinsky. Harfield H. Davis led the juniors in the halfterm work, with a general average of 94.5 per cent, and ten others were close in the race.
