OLLOWAY'S OINTMENT AND PILLS.Whenever circumstances produce impure blood, lessen the force of the circulation, or impair the natural forces, stagnation takes place in the lungs, and consumption or other formidable symptoms discover themselves. Let Holloway's remedies be tried on the first feelings of debility, or on the first annoyance of a dry, hacking cough. The Ointment hould be well rubbed twice a day upon the chest, and between the shoulders, and the Pills should be taken in alterative doses to purify the blood, and cleanse the system without weakening it: the instant rectification of error in the human body stops epidemics, which unchecked revel in devastation and riot in destruction.

"Though it has long been known that the death-warrant of Charles I. contains numerous erasures, the nature and scope of those erasures have never as yet been inquired into. This has now been done by Mr. William J. Thoms, who has published the result of them in Votes and Queries, and, if he is correct in his views, a very startling result it is. Mr. Thoms holds that the warrant was in part signed on the 26th or the 27th of January, and not on the 29th, as it professes to be; that it was intended to execute the King in the week preceding the 29th; that those to whom the warrant was originally addressed declined the responsibility of seeing it carried out; and that the official record of the proceedings of the High Court of Justice is not to be depended upon. Mr. Thoms has opened up a very interesting question which must receive further attention."-Morning Post.
