the name of the party admitting the crew, also the hour at which the premises were entered.

Re-inspection routes are prepared in the front office.

Special Superintendent.

The duties of the Special Superintendent are:

Ist. At the office:

(1) To collect inspection-returns of the previous day, and provide inspectors with fresh sheets and secure their route of work for the day.

(2) To collect old and give out fresh routes of work to reinspectors.

(3) To review the clerks' work of the previous day.

(4) To review inspection returns of the previous day and classify the nuisances for the clerks by blue and red pencil. (Blue indicating mosquito nuisances proper to be entered in the "white" books; red, ordinary nuisances to be entered in the "pink" books.) Matters requiring correction or explanation by, or further admonition. or instruction to the men, must be noted down and mention of same made in his daily report to the front office. Sheets in his judgment correctly worked must be O. K.'d boldly, in blue pencil, over his signature.

2d. In the field:

To reach, here and there, as many crews as may be possible and satisfy himself as to

(1) The correctness of their time-table;

(2) The character of their work.

The following form of daily report will be used by the Special Superintendent:

Temporary vacancies in crews, caused by absent helpers, will be filled by the Special Superintendent as promptly as possible.

Helpers whose foreman is absent will be used on other work connected with the service, more especially the correction of bad addresses.

Special Control Crew.

The duties of the Special Control Crew are:

(1) To investigate complaints and inspect and re-inspect scattered nuisances;

(2) To assist in the control of the work of other crews, through special inspections ordered by the front office.

The Special Crew will receive its instructions from the front office and report back to the front office.

The following form will be used in reporting the results of field investigations:

Tabulation, Black Book, Delivery and Notice Clerks.

As the sheets are reviewed and O. K.'d or annotated, as the case may be, by the Special Superintendent, they must be handed over by him for tabulation to the clerk in charge of this work, who, in turn, as his work progresses, will hand them over to the Notice Clerks.

The Notice Clerks will use ink for the notice proper and indelible pencil for the stub, securing with the proper use of carbon paper, on the slips furnished for the purpose duplicates of the stub entries, which slips will be used later in the re-inspection work. These notices and slips will be assorted and grouped together in serial order along

with the sheets to which they belong and turned over to the Special Superintendent. Clerks will also report on their day's work, using the following form:

The Special Superintendent after verifying the clerks' returns will hand over the slips and notices to the Delivery Clerk and the sheets to the Black Book Clerk.

The Black Book Clerk, as his work progresses, will turn over the sheets to the Tabulation Clerk (for tabulation of nuisances). whereupon the sheets will be turned over to the front office for final classification and recordation.

Notice Clerks must report promptly for duty at 9 A. M.
Lunch hour from 12 noon to 1 P. M.

Office hours are from 9 A. M. to 4 P. M.

Notice Delivery.

Notices will be served by members of the Regular Sanitary Force selected for the purpose. They will receive their work and routes from, and report back to, the Notice Delivery Clerk.

The following form will be used by the Delivery Clerk in checking the work of the Notice Servers:
