Praise for Redemption. Ps. cxxx. 7. Luke i. 68. 1 Pet. i. 18,19.
1 NOW begin the heav'nly theme,
Sing aloud in Jesus' name :
Triumph in redeeming love.
Beaming in the Saviour's face,
Praise and bless redeeming love.
Banish all your guilty fears ;
Cancell'd by redeeming love. 4 Ye, alas ! who long have been
Willing slaves of death and sin,
Stop and taste redeeming love. 5 Welcome all, by sin oppress'd,
Welcome to his sacred rest :
Nothing but redeeming love.
When we to his glory come,
Strike aloud each cheerful string;
Praise for Salvation. John in 17. xii. 47. 2 Tim. i. 9.
1 COME, ye lovers of the Lamb,
Praise the great Almighty Name:
To the Lamb, your bleeding King. 2 Jesus, thee we honours give;
Live, Almighty Jesus, live;
Thee we hail, incarnate God. 3 We were laden once with sin,
But the Lamb hath made us clean;
Now behold eternal day.
Now brought home by Jesus' blood,
In the Lord our righteousness. 5 Freely we are sav'd by grace:
Heart and hand we this embrace;
This, above, is all the song.
Christ, our Prophet, Priest and King :
Universal Praise. Ps. Ixvi. 4. Rev. v. 13.
1 FROM all that dwell below the skies
Let the Creator's praise arise :
Let the Redeemer's name be sung
Through ev'ry land, by ev'ry tongue. 2 Eternal are thy mercies, Lord;
Eternal truth attends thy word:
5. C. M. The Excellence of Scripture. 2 Tim. iii. 16. Rom. xv. 4 1 FATHER of mercies, in thy word,
What endless glory shines ! For ever be thy name ador'd
For these celestial lines.
Exhaustless riches find;
And lasting as the mind.
And yields a free repast; Sublimer sweets than nature knows,
Invite the longing taste. 4 Here, the Redeemer's welcome voice
Spreads heav'nly peace around; And life and everlasting joys
Attend the blissful sound.
My ever dear delight;
And still increasing light.
Be thou for ever near ;
Teach me to love thy sacred word,
And view my Saviour there.
6. C. M.
By inspiration given!
To guide our souls to heaven.
In this dark vale of tears;
And quells our rising fears.
Of life shall guide our way,
Of an eternal day.
7. L. M.
The differing tribes of Adam's race ;
Are sons of wrath, and heirs of grace.
The east, the west; the south, the north :
The present, future, past of earth.
Then be thy praise in concert sung,

And faith gives ev'ry doubt away ;
And sees afar. Christ Jesus' day :
Nor aught, save Christ, can e'er atone.
The Lamb of God, that once was slain :

New honours be address'd;
And makes the nations blest.
And learn his righteousness.
