EUCLID I.-IV. * The only symbols allowed are those signifying because, there

fore, equal to; the abbreviations AB2 and AB, CD are not permitted. Students are required to satisfy the Examiners in each Book. 1. Draw a straight line perpendicular to a given straight

line from a given point in the same. 2. Enunciate and prove Euclid I. 26. 3. The lines which join the extremities of equal and

A circle is described about a triangle ABC, and from its centre o perpendiculars OD, OE, OF are drawn to the opposite sides ; shew that the triangle

DEF is equiangular to the triangle ABC. 9. Lines which are equally distant from the centre of a

circle are equal to one another. 10. If two straight lines be drawn, one touching and the

other cutting a circle, the rectangle under the segments of the cutting line is equal to the square on

the touching line. 11. Find a point equally distant from three given

straight lines.
