2 How charming is their voice !
How sweet the tidings are !
He reigns and triumphs here.
That hear this joyful sound, Which kings and prophets waited for,
And sought, but never found. 4 How highly blest our eyes,
That see this heavenly light;
But died without the sight.
And tuneful notes employ ;
And deserts learn the joy.
Through all the earth abroad :
Their Saviour, and their God.
HYMN 244. C. M. [#]
Shall in the banquet share.
His bounteous hand bestows;
In rich abundance flows.
3 See, to the vilest of the vile
A free acceptance given ;
Become the heirs of heaven.
To ease and health restored, With eager appetites partake
The plenties of the board. 5 But, 0, what draughts of bliss unknown,
What dainties, shall be given, When, with the millions round the throne,
We join the feast of heaven ! 6 There joys, immeasurably high,
Shall overflow the soul,
In thousand channels roll.
HYMN 245. L. M. [#]
Provisions of Grace. 1 How rich are thy provisions, Lord!
Thy table furnished from above! The fruits of life o'erspread the board,
The cup o'erflows with heavenly love. 2 Thine ancient family, the Jews,
Were first invited to the feast : We humbly take what they refuse,
And Gentiles thy salvation taste. 3 We are the poor, the blind, the lame,
And help was far, and death was nigh; But, at the gospel call, we came,
And every want received supply.
4 Our everlasting love is due
To him that ransomed sinners lost, And pitied rebels, when he knew
The vast expense his love would cost.
HYMN 246. L. M. [#]
Gospel Provisions. 1 LORD, we adore thy bounteous hand,
Which spread for us this solemn feast : The riches of thy gospel stand
Open to every willing guest. 2 The cup is filled with living wine
Pressed from celestial fruits above, And flows, to man, in every clime
In streams of everlasting love. 3 Then, O my soul, adore and praise
Your God, who doth these blessings bring; Attune your harps to heavenly lays,
And shout hosannas to your King.
HYUN 247. 8. 7. M. [#]
Sinners entreated. 1 SINNERS, will
you scorn the
Listen to it;
News from Zion's King proclaim,
To each rebel sinner pardon,
How important ! Free forgiveness in his name. 3 Tempted souls, they bring you succour;
Fearful hearts, they quell your fears,
away the falling tears.
HYMN 248. C. M. [#]
Blessings of the Gospel. 1 What glorious tidings do I hear From
Redeemer's tongue !
The lame can walk abroad;
The deaf can hear the word. 3 The dead are raised to life anew
By renovating grace;
of Adam's race.
When Christ displays his love,

Spread of the Gospel.
Are by creation thine,
• Thy power and glory shine.
Thy gospel to mankind, Unveiling what rich stores of grace
Are treasured in thy mind. 3 Lord, when shall these glad tidings spread
The spacious earth around, Till every tribe and every soul
Shall hear the joyful sound ?
Their cruelty to love;
The vulture to a dove.
To spread the gospel's rays;
A temple to thy praise.

Sinai and Zion.
The tempest, fire, and smoke,
Which God on Sinai spoke,
