§. 2. Exemplification of the RECOVERY Roll.

GEORGE the fecond by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, and fo forth; to all to whom thefe our prefent Letters shall come, Greeting. Know ye, that among the Pleas of Land, enrolled at Westminster, before Sir John Willes, Knight, and his Fellows, our Juftices of the Bench, of the Term of Saint Michael, in the twenty first Year of our Reign, upon the fifty fecond Roll it is thus contained. Entry returnable on the Octave of Saint Martin. Borfolk, to wit: Francis Golding Clerk, in his proper Person demandeth against David Edwards, Efquire, two Meffuages, two Gardens, three hundred Acres of Land, one hundred Acres of Meadow, two hundred Acres of Pasture, and fifty Acres of Wood, with the Appurtenances, in Dale, as his Right and Inheritance, and into which the faid David hath not Entry, unless afrer the Diffeifin, which Hugh Hunt thereof unjustly, and without Judgment, hath made to the aforefaid Francis, within thirty Years now laft 'paft. And whereupon he faith, that he himself was feifed of the Tenements aforefaid, with the Appurtenances, in his Demefne as of Fee and Right, in time of Peace, in the Time of the Lord the King that now is, by taking the Profits thereof to the Value [* of fix Shillings and eight Pence, and more, in Rents, Corn, and Grafs.] And into which [the faid David hath not Entry, unless as aforefaid:] And thereupon he bringeth Suit, [and good Proof.] and the faid David in his proper Perfon comes and defendeth his Right, when [and where it fhall behove him,] and thereupon voucheth to Warranty "John Barker, Efquire; who is

Afterwards, that is to fay, the twenty eighth Day of November in this fame Term, here cometh the faid Francis in his proper Person; and the Sheriff, namely Sir Charles Thompson, Knight, now fendeth, that he by virtue of the Writ aforefaid to him directed, on the twenty fourth Day of the fame Month, did cause the faid Francis to have full Seifin of the Tenements aforefaid with the Appurtenances, as he was commanded. All and angular which Premises, at the Request of the faid Francis, by the Tenor of these Prefents we have held good to be exemplified. In Teftimony whereof we have caufed our Seal, appointed for fealing Writs in the Bench aforefaid, to be affixed to these Prefents. §. 1. Writ of RIGHT patent in the COURT BARON,

EORGE the second by the Grace of God of Great N°. VIII. Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, and fo forth, to Willoughby Earl of Abingdon, greeting.

De command you that without Delay you hold full Right to William Kent Esquire, of one Meffuage and twenty Acres of Land with the Appurtenances in Dorchester, which he claims to hold of you by the free Service of one Penny yearly in lieu of all Services, of which Richard Allen deforces him. And unless you so do, let the Sheriff of Oxfordshire do it, that we no longer hear Complaint thereof for Defect of Right. Witnefs Ourfelf at Westminster, the twentieth Day of August, in the thirtieth Year of our Reign.

§. 2. Writ of TOLT, to remove it into the COUNTY COURT.

Charles Morton, Efquire, Sheriff of Oxfordshire, to John Long Bailiff Errant of our Lord the King and of my felf, greeting. Because by the Complaint of William Kent Efquire, perfonally prefent at my County-Court, to wit, on Monday the fixth Day of September in the thirtieth Year of the Reign of our Lord GEORGE the fecond by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France, and Ireland King, De. fender of the Faith, and so forth, at Oxford in the Shirehouse there holden, I am informed, that although he himfelf the Writ of our faid Lord the King of right Patent directed to Willoughby Earl of Abingdon, for this that he

VIII. fhould hold full Right to the faid William Kent of one Meffuage and twenty Acres of Land with the Appurtenances in Dorchefter within my faid County, of which Richard Allen deforces him, hath brought to the faid Willoughby Earl of Abingdon; yet, for that the faid Willoughby Earl of Abingdon favoureth the said Richard Allen in this Part, and hath hitherto delayed to do full Right according to the Exigence of the faid Writ, I command you on the Part of our faid Lord the King. firmly enjoining, that in your proper Perfon you go to the Court Baron of the faid Willoughby Earl of Abingdon at Dorchefter aforefaid, and take away the Plaint, which there is between the faid Willliam Kent and Richard Allen by the faid Writ, into my County Court to be next holden; and fummon by good Summoners the said Richard Allen, that he be at my County Court on Monday the fourth Day of October next coming at Oxford in the Shirehouse there to be holden, to answer to the faid Wil liam Kent thereof. And have you there then the said Plaint, the Summoners, and this Precept. Given in my County Court at Oxford, in the Shirehouse, the fixth Day of Sep. tember, in the Year aforefaid.

§. 3. Writ of PONE, to remove it into the Court of COMMON PLEAS.

GEORGE the fecond, by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, and fo forth, to the Sheriff of Oxfordshire, greeting. Put, at the Request of William Kent, before our Juftices at Westminster on the Morrow of All Souls, the Plaint which is in your County Court by our Writ of Right, between the faid William Kent Demandant, and Richard Allen Tenant, of one Meffuage and twenty Acres of Land with the Appurtenances in Dorchester; and fummon by good Summoners the faid Richard Allen, that he be then there, to answer to the faid William Kent thereof. And have you there the Summoners and this Writ. Ditnefs Ourself at Westminster, the tenth Day of September, in the thirtieth Year of our Reign,
