This Supplement also presents an outline of the entire Code as it existed on June 1, 1943, with portions of the original edition of the Code which were still in force on the effective date hereof carried by reference only. Therefore, no section appearing in the original edition of the Code was in effect on June 1, 1943, unless included in this Supplement in the table of sections for the appropriate part. This Supplement should be used not only in conjunction with the first edition of the Code of Federal Regulations, but also in conjunction with Supplements issued subsequent to June 1, 1943, and with the daily issues of the FEDERAL REGISTER. Book 5, Part 1, contains the codification of rules and regulations assigned to Title 26, Parts 2 through 178. Part 2 of this book completes the codification of Title 26 and includes Title 27. In order to complete the presentation of the regulations of the Bureau of Internal Revenue as of June 1, 1943, this codification contains documents filed with the Division subsequent to June 1, which were effective on that date.
