Mr. SHEPPARD, from the Committee on Commerce, submitted the

REPORT.

[To accompany S. 6956.]

The Committee on Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (S. 6956) to authorize the construction, maintenance, and operation of a wagon bridge across the St. Francis River at a point one-half mile northwest of Parkin, Cross County, Ark., having considered the same, report thereon with a recommendation that it pass without amendment.

The bill has the approval of the War Department, as will appear by the following letter, which is made a part of this report:

WAR DEPARTMENT, December 1, 1916. Respectfully returned to the chairman Committee on Commerce, United States Senate.

The Chief of Engineers reports that Senate bill No. 6956, Sixty-fourth Congress, first session, to authorize the construction, maintenance, and operation of a wagon bridge across the St. Francis River at a point one-half mile northwest of Parkin, Cross County, Ark., makes ample provision for the protection of the interests committed to the War Department, and I know of no objection to the favorable consideration of the bill by Congress so far as those interests are concerned.

REPORT.

[To accompany S. 7095.]

The Committee on Commerce, to whom was referred the bill (S. 7095) extending time for the completion of the bridge across the Delaware River, authorized by an act entitled "An act to authorize the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. and the Pennsylvania & Newark Railroad Co., or their successors, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge across the Delaware River," approved the 24th day of August, 1912, having considered the same, report thereon with a recommendation that it pass without amendment.

The bill has the approval of the Department of War, as will appear by the following letter, which is made a part of this report:
