COVERING VOLUMES 1 TO 16 INCLUSIVE OF THE REPORTS WITH REFERENCES TO THE NOTES IN THE AMERICAN DECISIONS, AMERICAN AND A TABLE OF CASES DIGESTED AS WELL AS TABLES SHOWING WHERE THE ARIZONA DECISIONS, CONSTITUTION, BY PETER V. ROSS Of the San Francisco Bar. Author of "Inheritance Taxation," "Probate Law and Practice," etc. SAN FRANCISCO Copyright, 1915, BY BANCROFT-WHITNEY COMPANY NOV 2 2 1916 SAN FRANCISCO PREFACE. In the preparation of this Digest an attempt has been made to state and classify all points of law that have been passed upon by the Supreme Court of Arizona up to the present time. To accomplish this, all of the syllabi or headnotes of the first sixteen volumes of the official reports of the State have been used, and the opinions themselves have been searched to bring out additional points. It is believed, therefore, that the Digest is complete in presenting all of the case law of Arizona to date. The American Digest Classification has been adopted, for the reason that it is now in general use among lawyers and is more familiar to the great majority of them than any other system. The value of the Digest has been materially added to by making copious references to the notes in the American Decisions, American Reports, American State Reports, American Annotated Cases, and Lawyers' Reports Annotated. The table of cases digested is direct and reverse, and shows the page and the title where each case is cited in the body of the Digest. Other tables have been compiled showing where all Arizona decisions have been cited and construed, not only in Arizona but elsewhere, and also showing where the Constitution, Codes, and Statutes of Arizona have been cited and interpreted. These tables have been prepared by Mr. George J. Martin, Secretary of the San Francisco Bar Association. They will prove of no little aid in facilitating research. Valuable assistance in the editorial work of the Digest has been rendered by Mr. William George and Mr. Chas. L. Thompson, both of the San Francisco Bar. San Francisco, October, 1915. P. V. ROSS. |
