2 O Jesus, Thou art knocking:

And lo! that hand is scarred, And thorns Thy brow encircle, And tears Thy face have marred: O love that passeth knowledge, So patiently to wait! O sin that hath no equal, So fast to bar the gate!

3 O Jesus, Thou art pleading
In accents meek and low,
"I died for you, My children,
And will ye treat Me so?"
O Lord, with shame and sorrow
We open now the door:
Dear Saviour, enter, enter,
And leave us nevermore.

2 "Fear not, I am with thee, oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid;

I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

3 "When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

4 "When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie,
My grace, all-sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.
5 "Even down to old age all My people shall prove
My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
And when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be borne.

6 "The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake!"

2 Oh, lovely attitude! He stands With melting heart and loaded hands: Oh, matchless kindness! and He shows This matchless kindness to His foes. 3 But will He prove a friend indeed? He will; the very friend you need:

147 ST. BEES 75.

The Friend of sinners-yes, 't is He,
With garments dyed on Calvary.

4 Rise, touched with gratitude divine;
Turn out His enemy and thine,
That soul-destroying monster, sin,
And let the heavenly Stranger in.

2 "I delivered thee when bound,

And, when bleeding, healed thy wound, Sought thee wandering, set thee right, Turned thy darkness into light. 3 "Can a woman's tender care Cease towards the child she bare? Yes, she may forgetful be; Yet will I remember thee. 4 "Mine is an unchanging love, Higher than the heights above,

Deeper than the depths beneath, Free and faithful, strong as death. 5 "Thou shalt see my glory soon, When the work of grace is done; Partner of My Throne shalt be: Say, poor sinner, lov'st thou Me?" 6 Lord, it is my chief complaint,

That my love is weak and faint;
Yet I love Thee and adore;
Oh, for grace to love Thee more!

the double cure, Cleanse me from its guilt and power. Amen.

2 Not the labor of my hands
Can fulfill Thy law's demands;
Could my zeal no respite know,
Could my tears forever flow,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save, and Thou alone.

3 Nothing in my hand I bring;
Simply to Thy cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Vile, I to the fountain fly:
Wash me, Saviour, or I die!

4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyelids close in death,
When I soar to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of ages, cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee!

A. M. Toplady, 1776

All fullness dwells in Him; He heals all my diseases, He doth my soul redeem: I lay my griefs on Jesus,

My burdens and my cares; He from them all releases,

He all my sorrows shares.

3 I long to be like Jesus,
Meek, loving, lowly, mild;

I long to be like Jesus,
The Father's holy child:
I long to be with Jesus

Amid the heavenly throng,
To sing with saints His praises,

To learn the angels' song,
