THE assurance that “DR. HOWELL'S FAMILY” has conveyed to many hearts words of hope, healing, and trust, encourages the author to send forth a new edition.

It has been carefully revised, and its mission will be found as earnest and as helpful to-day as when it first sought to scatter by the wayside seeds of truth and of beauty.

The author has not drawn imaginary and impossible characters, but has selected a few men and women whose lifework has been closely interwoven with her own to portray the loveliness of that wisdom “ which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits.”
