Do you find the Name of Lord Windsor in that Pawn?

Do you find the Name of Lord Mordaunt in that Pawn?

(Mr. Solicitor General.)

From your Knowledge of those Instruments, does it always happen that the Names of all existing Peers are found on those Documents?

I cannot answer that.

You are not sufficiently familiar with those Instruments to be able to answer that?

I should consider that they are the Records of the Day, and contain all those that have Writs of Summons.

But if I understand, you are not sufficiently familiar, by a personal Examination, with the Documents, to be able to say that invariably the Names of all the existing Peers at the Time appear upon the Document?

All those that had Writs of Summons.

It is not in the Pawn of the Twenty-first, but is in the Thirtieth?
Yes.

The Witness was directed to withdraw.

Sir Harris Nicolas stated, That he would produce the Journal of the House to show that Lord Braye was sitting in the House in the Twenty-fifth of Henry the Eighth, and would also show the Chasm which exists in the Lords Journals.

Then EDWARD PARRATT Esquire was again called in, and further examined as follows:

Sir Harris Nicolas.) You are the Clerk of the Journals ?

I am.

Have you the original Journals of the Lords House for the Twentyfifth of Henry the Eighth ?

I have.

Will you be good enough to turn to the last Entry in the Seventh Year of Henry the Eighth ?

The last Entry appears to be the 22d of December, in the Sixth and Seventh of Henry the Eighth.

Do

Do you find the Name of Lord Braye in that Year?

'No, his Name does not appear there.

What is the next Entry in the Lords Journals?

The next Entry is the 15th of January, the Twenty-fifth of Henry

the Eighth.

Have the goodness to look at the List of Peers on that Day?

Among the Peers appear Lord Wentworth, Lord Borough, Lord Braye, and Lord Mordaunt.

Are they the junior Peers sitting?

They are the last entered.

Does Lord Braye appear marked as being present?

He is marked with the Letter p. as present.

You are prepared to say, that you understand that to be the Mark of being present?

I have always so understood it.

Have you a Copy of that Entry?

I have.

Have the goodness to deliver it in.

The same was delivered in, and read as follows:

"A. 1533. 25 Hen. VIII.

"Primo die parliamenti.
