A FEW INTERESTING DETAILS CONCERNING THE WIDE
WORLD GEOGRAPHY READERS.

ADVANTAGES.-The size of these Readers makes it possible to include a much larger number of coloured pictures than can be put into an ordinary 8vo book. Thus, in the Wide World Readers, the fortunate scholar has before him, in each volume, from 60 to 90 beautifully coloured photographs bearing directly on the subject-matter. Every practical teacher knows the value of pictures in the Geography Lesson, as a mears of conveying clearer intelligence and deeper interest; and in the vast number of schools over the United Kingdom now using these justly-famous Readers, these results have been verified over and over again.

MAPS.-Here again the size of the book offers a most material advantage, as it makes possible the introduction of Full sized Maps to the Summaries. Every Wide World Reader carries its own Atlas.

BINDING.-Teachers may safely calculate that a Quarto Size Reader will last many years longer than an ordinary 8vo book. Scholars are compelled to hold the book on the palm of the hand, and as this involves no strain on the binding, the advantages are obvious.

The Schoolmaster says :—' "No happier title could have been chosen for those really excellent books. Wherever used, they will give a life and interest to the teaching of Geography that nothing else can give. They are profusely illustrated with maps, coloured and plain, and striking scenes either of rural beauty or the busy occupations of our industrial centres."

"In the more advanced standards we are introduced to scenes in other lands, graphically described in letterpress of a readable kind, or by the artist's pencil The type is beyond all praise."
