Incline us all to admire the character, and to imitate the bleffed example fuftained by Christ Jefus while he was upon earth. May we cultivate in our lives, thofe virtues his precepts fo warmly recommended, and incline us to adhere to the duties which he invariably pursued in his own practice; that, aiming at his divine exellencies, we may approve ourselves to be in reality his difciples, and, by his merits, be admitted into that incorruptible, and never-fading inheritance, that, by his blood, he purchased for his faithful followers. LMIGHTY FATHER! In thee all things live, and move, and have their being. Thou art my Creator, and I am refolved to remember thee in the days of my youth, and to serve thee with a pure heart while I live.

Thou hast commanded me to worship thee in spirit and in truth. Lord incline me to be obedient to thee in all holiness and godly converfation; and by thy holy word and spirit make me wife unto falva

I thank thee, O Lord, that thou haft blessed me with indulgent and pious parents, whose anxious concern is to train me up to thy fear; and to inftruct me in my real interefts, in the life that now is, and in that to come. Let thy laws, and their precepts, be fo fealed upon my mind, as that I may always be affraid to offend thee, or dishonour them. Neither may the example of the vicious, nor the pleasures that mislead the fenfual to their destruction, be ever able to infect or feduce me from what is good. But, like the great Teacher of Righteousness, and perfect pattern of virtue, Chrift Jefus, may I endeavour to be obedient to thee my heavenly Sovereign, and to act respectfully, courteoufly, and charitably to all men.

While I magnify thy goodness, exercised towards me in times past, l'implore thy future affiftance in guiding me into all the useful learning I ought still to be studious to acquire. Let not the fins and infirmities of my youth prevent thy merciful aid from being difplayed to thy fervant, who, with humble fupplication, entreats the pardon of all his offences. Lift up the light of thy countenance upon me, and put gladness into my heart. Let thy con

Be gracious to all my friends and relations; do them good according to their neceffities. Reward my benefactors, and forgive my enemies; and help me, from my heart, to forgive them alfo.

tion! Thou great Immortal King of Heaven! I will exalt thy ever-gloriouns name; and my grateful spirit fhall praise thee for

ever.

Every day is fignalized by new expreffions of thy goodness; therefore, in the morning, will I magnify thee, and every evening fhall witnefs my willing homage, while I pour out the thankful tribute of a pure heart into thy attentive ear.

3. Thou art inconceivably great; thy dominion is unbounded and everlasting; thou alone art worthy of all praife; thy perfections are infinite, and thy ways unfearchable.

4. The immenfity of the heavens cannot contain thee: the earth is but the footstool of thy Omnipotence; thy fovereignty is univerfal. The multitude of generations fhall praise thy ftupenduous works, and declare to the aftonifhed world the operations of thy Power, and the unwearied exertions of thy Mercy.
