6. A man buys a gun for 31. 2s. 6d., and sells it for 31. 5s. 11d.; find his gain per cent. on the purchase money.

7. Explain why the fractions,, may be reduced to equivalent fractions with a common denominator 35. Reduce +16+ and express the result as a decimal.

11. A person purchases 20,000l. 3 per cent. stock at 967, and sells out at 821; how much does he lose by the transaction?

12. Divide (·0001)2 by (02). Find the square root of (1) 9.3467164176; (2) 11 to four decimal places.
