Pages 62-87 are also in duplicate and contain Mather's letter to Rev. Bartholomew Ziegenbalgh and Rev. John E. Grundler's letter to Cotton Mather, both printed in Latin, with the English Translation. THE FIRST LONDON EDITION. VERY RARE. The "Serious Exhortation" called for on the title was never included in this London Edition. This is a History of King Philip's War, written in answer to Wharton's "New England's Present Sufferings," in which the author had claimed that the Indian War was in retribution for the sufferings which the Quakers had endured at the hands of the Puritans. THIS IS THE AUTHOR'S OWN COPY, WITH HIS AUTOGRAPH ON THE FLYLEAF. It contains also the Autograph of Thomas Foxcroft, 1724, and an inscription indicating that this copy was presented to him by the Author. There is also the autograph of Sally Foxcroft as well as those of later

owners.

The leaf of "Advertisement" with errata is present, as well as the additional leaf of "Advertisement" at the end.
