2 What God's almighty power hath made
His gracious mercy keepeth;
By morning glow or evening shade
His watchful eye ne'er sleepeth;
Within the kingdom of his might
Lo! all is just and all is right;
To God all praise and glory.

3 The Lord is never far away;

But, through all grief distressing,
An ever-present help and stay,

Our peace and joy and blessing:
As with a mother's tender hand
He leads his own, his chosen band;
To God all praise and glory.

WHO

HO trusts in God, a strong abode
In heaven and earth possesses;
Who looks in love to Christ above,
No fear his heart oppresses.

2 In thee alone, dear Lord, we own
Sweet hope and consolation;
Our shield from foes, our balm for woes,
Our great and sure salvation!

3 Thy rod and staff shall keep us safe,
And guide our steps forever;

Nor shades of death, nor hell beneath,
Our souls from thee shall sever.

4 In all the strife of mortal life

Our feet shall stand securely;
Temptation's hour shall lose its power
For thou shalt guard us surely.

5 O God, renew, with heavenly dew,
Our body, soul, and spirit,
Until we stand at thy right hand,
Through Jesus' saving merit.

TO, God is here!-let us adore,

And own how dreadful is this place!
Let all within us feel his power,

And silent bow before his face.

2 Lo, God is here!-him day and night
United choirs of angels sing:

To him, enthroned above all height,
Let saints their humble worship bring.
3 Lord God of hosts! O may our praise
Thy courts with grateful incense fill:
Still may we stand before thy face,
Still hear and do thy sovereign will.

HE Lord is King! lift up thy voice,
O earth, and all ye heavens, rejoice!
From world to world the joy shall ring:
The Lord omnipotent is King.

2 The Lord is King! who then shall dare
Resist his will, distrust his care?
Holy and true are all his ways:
Let every creature speak his praise.

3 The Lord is King! exalt your strains,
Ye saints, your God, your Father, reigns;
One Lord, one empire, all secures:

He reigns, and life and death are yours.

4 O when his wisdom can mistake,
His might decay, his love forsake,
Then may his children cease to sing,-
The Lord omnipotent is King.

THE

HE Lord Jehovah reigns: His throne is built on high;
The garments he assumes, Are light and majesty.
His glories shine with beams so bright,

No mortal eye can bear the sight.

2 The thunders of his hand Keep the wide world in awe; His wrath and justice stand To guard his holy law; And where his love resolves to bless,

His truth confirms and seals the grace.

3 Through all his ancient works Surprising wisdom shines, Confounds the powers of hell, And breaks their curst designs, Strong is his arm, and shall fulfill

His great decrees, his sovereign. will.

4 And can this mighty King Of glory condescend? And will he write his name, My Father and my Friend? I love his name, I love his word;

Join all my powers, and praise the Lord.

THE

HE God of Abrah❜m praise, Who reigns enthroned above,
Ancient of everlasting days, And God of love:
JEHOVAH, great I AM! By earth and heaven confessed,—
I bow and bless the sacred name, For ever blest.

2 The God of Abrah'm praise, At whose supreme command
From earth I rise, and seek the joys At his right hand :
I all on earth forsake, Its wisdom, fame and power;
And him my only portion make, My shield and tower.
3 He by himself has sworn; I on his oath depend;
I shall, on eagles' wings upborne, To heaven ascend:
I shall behold his face, I shall his power adore,
And sing the wonders of his grace For evermore.

GREAT God, how infinite art thou!

What worthless worms are we!

Let the whole race of creatures bow,
And pay their praise to thee.

2 Thy throne eternal ages stood,
Ere seas or stars were made:
Thou art the ever-living God,
Were all the nations dead.
