The sixth Senate of the State of Washington assembled at the Senate chamber, in the state capitol, pursuant to law, at 12 o'clock noon, this day. Lieutenant Governor Thurston Daniels, ex officio president of the fifth Senate, called the Senate to order. The Secretary of State, Will D. Jenkins, read the following communications:

SIR-I have the honor to transmit herewith a certified list contain-
ing the names of all persons elected as members of the State Senate,
State of Washington, at the last general election, held on the 8th day
of November, 1898, as shown by the election returns now on file in this
office, together with a list of the "hold-over" senators.
