All existing English works of a similar character, such as Hook's Church Dictionary, Blunt's Dictionary of Theology, Blunt's Dictionary of Sects, etc., were compiled by Protestants, and it is scarcely possible to turn over ten pages in one without meeting with some more or less open attack upon Catholicism.
