[The first edition of Lydgate's translation of Boccaccio's "Fall of Princes." This is probably the finest copy in existence, notwithstanding that it wanted AI (a blank leaf) and had AI inlaid, and a few inner plain top corners mended and some stained, and some wormholes in the last 3 leaves filled in. The edges after the first leaf are all rough, some are uncut, showing the actual size of the leaves when folded. The measurement is 124 inches by 9 inches. The general aspect of the volume is very fine, and the woodcuts clean and clear, and it is quite perfect apart from the few blemishes noted above. On the reverse of last leaf is a contemporary signature, "This boke is Sir Roberde Hardinges."-Catalogue.]
